I read this interesting post from Touch Arcade this morning and thought I’d share. ION, the makers of the iCade have announced three new products at this years Consumer Electronics Show. First there’s the redesigned iCade devoid of the wooden arcade cabinet box, secondly there’s a new iCade junior model and thirdly, a new portable model for the iphone.
Personally, I’m not too keen on the redesigned iCade as I prefer the retro look of a original wooden arcade cabinet. However, it’s a big ‘ol wooden box and so can be a pain to store away sometimes and this new one model could easily be slipped away into a drawer.
What is impressive is that Sony PSP inspired iCade portable – can’t wait to try out one of those! Virtual d-pads are o.k, but on the small iPhone screen, not always great.
That jnr model looks pretty cool too, perfect desktop toy 🙂
